Konqueror became hijacked by McDonalds?!

Hi!

I am dealing with a (in my eyes) very odd problem. I recognized it first as I tried to open a link I got via sim (ICQ IM). Sim ignores my default browser settings (which point to firefox) and tries to open the link in konqueror. But after loading konqueror it stops loading the page and opens www.mcdonalds.com in firefox (default browser).
I set the default browser in the KDE-control-center via the "Component choser" and set it to "in the following browser: firefox %s".
I tried to figure out, why this is happening. Then I thought, I might change the default-browser to another to see if the mcdonalds-site then opens in that other browser. Wrote "konqueror" in the component choser instead of "firefox %s". The result was that in a period of 1s a new konqueror-window opened until i could kill the the processes through "Alt+F4" until there were no konqueror-windows any more. That was the only result, no mcdonalds any more, but also not the wanted page in any of the konqueror windows.
Then I set the web browser in the component choser to "in an application based on the contents of the url", which I think then uses the settings in the "file types" to determine the application to open it with.
In the file types the application to handle html-files is set to "firefox". I clicked a link and it opened in the actual firefox tab, nothing else. This is quite the behaviour I prefer and it should be like, but I still wonder where that mcdonalds.com link came from and why the system showed this weird behaviour.

I hope I could explain the circumstances right and you understood what happened.

Can someone explain this behaviour?

edit: I forgot to mention, that I could not open any website in konqueror, before I made the changes in the component choser. If i tried to enter a website in the address field in konqueror and then pressed enter, www.mcdonalds.com became opened in firefox (which was default browser). Now it's fine again, and the urls open in konqueror.

So you fixed it to use Firefox and want to know why?

I have no idea. Did you ever visit mcdonalds.com or see any ads or links that you might have clicked on?

No, I wanna know why konqueror refuses to open any website except www.mcdonalds.com under specific circumstances.

Not before I was forced to.

Easy way to figure that problem out (I had the same thing happen making a search. Simply google %s and you'll see it comes up as Mcdonald's for the first choice. Since Firefox loves to do the "I'm feeling lucky" choice when you search it automatically goes to mcdonalds.

This is def. one of those Occam's Razor issues. (ie. KISS people)
