Exclamation Monopigator server out?

The monopigator server where other monopd servers are registered is out since at least mid November 2004. It was monopd.unixcode.org...When a client such as AtlantiK starts, it goes to the monopigator server to get the available monopd servers.
If you install a monopd server in your system, it registers itself automatically on the monopigator server. Then, the monopigator server is CRUCIAL and is out.
Atlantik therefor can not get the monopd servers list and gives an error.
I also adict to Monopoly and would like to see again the monopigator server up....
Are there other monopigator servers active? where?
Thx.

Question What happens to Rob Kaper ?

Hi,
I'm also an Atlantik junkie and since more than one month I'm crying because I have to play that ugly Monopoly on games.com
I think that Atlantik was much better and for me the best linux game...and it can help a lot to promote linux.
I send emails but till now no answer. The question is simple : What happens to Rob Kaper ? and his server unixcode.org ???
Can we help ? Can someone take the challenge to make a monopigator server ???

Waiting for your comments, I hope to see you soon again on Atlantik...

Any word at all on Atlantik

Does anyone know anything about what has happened to the monopd servers? I have tried to research for any clues as to what might have happened, but I have not had any luck. If anyone has any idea as to what has happened, please post the news! Also, you may have noticed that the unixcode.org domain has apparently been taken over by another entity. Check it out, and post any news that you may hear!

Best

He will get the DNS-Records corrected and pointing to a new Monopigator

The WHOIS database shows the domain unixcode.org is legally registered to Rob Kaper and does not expire until 29 Jan 2006. Browsing to www.unixcode.org takes one to a placeholder page of the domain registrar company directNIC.

unixcode.org has been down so long I am worried about the health of Rob Kaper. Maybe he had an accident or something?

I tried e-mailing a KDE developer who had submitted recent patches to Atlantik but never got a reply. Someone must be in touch or know what's going on. This is really frustrating not knowing what's going on. I would be pissed off if I weren't so concerned that something serious might have happened to Rob Kaper, and considering all the the work he's done for the Open Source community one can only be thankful for all of his contribution!

see http://webcvs.kde.org/kdegames/atlan...ver_widget.cpp

The next version of Atlantik will use the new server (monopd-gator.kde.org instead of monopd.unixcode.org) - it also backported to the current version (only the package must be updated).

I downloaded the Debian kdegames source, changed the metaserver in the Atlantik code to point to the new monopd-gator.kde.org, recompiled, and can happily report that it connects and everything works. Someone can probably do the same for the Fedora .rpm.

I have posted the fixed Atlantik Debian package at http://infrablue.mine.nu/packages

Thank you Jtb for the info.

Where can I find the Rpm file for fedora 9? I just switched to fedora from ubuntu and feeling my way around a little bit....
I run my own server at atlantik.kevincroissant.com, and i can no longer go on it and play my own games because i can't find a client!!
Also, the robertjohnkaper.com site was suspended for some reason!! Why was this?

Thanks in advance!
-kevin
