Arrow FC3 screensavers not working on KDE

In Fedora Core 3, only the "random" screensaver works.
Selecting any others result in a blank screen when they load.

Notes:

* I have tried with power managment on and off with no effect.
* The screensavers will run if I run them from commandline.

The fact is that the screensavers work under gnome. On KDE only the kde screensavers work. The xscreensavers present the problem above.

i read other posts on this but no reply. please help me!

I finally found myself a solution downgrading xscreensaver to xscreensaver-4.14-5 from FC2
It seems this version works under KDE even if I don't think downgrading a packet can be a real solution to a problem.
I wonder why Fedora does not correct what it seems a very simple problem.
Is it true that KDE has less support cause FC is GNOME based?

This is very disappointing.
Thanks anyway

Lost my screensavers after downgrading

As suggested by numb in http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho...41&postcount=3 as pointed to by cascadefx, I downgraded my xscreensaver to 4.15-5. However, when I want to configure a screensaver now, I only see the options:
  • blank screen
  • random
Anybody seen that problem?

Even after upgrading again, I do not see any other screensaver.

I had the same problem. Native video drivers is too bad in 3D graphics, so screensaver didn't work properlly. After I installed nVidia drivers(for my old geForce2) my screensaver become black. You should chenge permissions for /dev/nvidia* to chgrp [your group] and chmod g+rw. This trick solved problem.Maybe somebody know better solution.
P.S: Sorry for my bad english
