Desktop Icons Issue with Nemo in F19

Just upgraded to Fedora 19 per the fedup instructions on the Fedora wiki. All went well until I logged into Gnome (3.8.2.1). When I open Nemo file manager a bunch of icons appear on my desktop.

This only happens when I open Nemo. I do not want any desktop icons. I have tried the gnome-tweak-tool setting to disable 'File Manager handles desktop' but it has no effect. Once Nemo is launched, the desktop is hosed with like 50 icons.

Gnome 3 uses Nautilus as the file manager, did you add different components? Are you running Cinnamon?

Default vanilla install of F19 Gnome 3 did not have this trouble. Though I did a fresh net-install, did not upgrade.

You should start nemo with the --no-desktop option in gnome-3
There is also a gsettings key for this.
    Code:
    gsettings set org.nemo.desktop show-desktop-icons false
Hope this is the right key, i 've currently no cinnamon running. You can check this with dconf-editor.

I was using Cinnamon in F18 and I loved it but for whatever reason it's broken after the fedup net-upgrade to F19. The desktop is all blue and it won't apply my wallpaper or any desktop gsettings.

No biggie, went back to Gnome so gsettings work again. As for Nemo, I have to have it as Nautilus has removed the F3 split pane feature (among other features that I must have).

I will try to launch nemo from cairo-dock with the --no-desktop flag and see if it has any effect.

    Thanks!

    --UPDATE--

Looks like the --no-desktop switch has resolved the problem. Thanks!

Thanks! This works beautifully. I use Nemo in Gnome, as I think it is a very good file handler.
