need help with NETATALK

Im running FC-3 , trying to set up netatalk so I can use this server to share files and printer with my MAC OSX . I think Ive set up netatalk, when I try to use my MAC OSX client it finds the FC-3 machine and recognizes it's name. but when I click "connect" (from the MAC) I get the message "Connection failed - This file server is running on your machine. Please access the volumes and files locally."

It seems the MAC thinks netatalk is running on IT, not the FC-3 box. A search on the MAC reveals no netatalk running there.

Any ideas as to what's wrong here???
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Not familar with what OSX can connect to, but can't you connect to CUPS shared printers and Windows/Samba shares? That might be easier.

The printers are especially easy to setup, just use the System Settings > Printing tool and share them.

Edit your servers /etc/hosts file so that it's name is not associated with 127.0.0.1. This screws up sendmail a bit, but I ditch that for postfix anyway.
