Gnome system monitor

here's a weird one -

Just re-installed FC3 and the system monitor will not 'moinitor' - the GUI comes up but the active processes screen will not populate. So it will not show the active processes and give me the option of killing something that really needs to be killed.

Anyone else have something like this happen? It was the same case in the original install of FC3, but did not happen in either FC2 or FC1.

Mick

Can't say that I've had this specific problem, but if something is hanging it could simply be a display issue. Personally I use the ps and kill commands from the command line. You can also use the top command if you don't know specifically which process is using up all the memory or processor. top can also be used to kill processes.

examples:
ps -aux
kill <pid number>
top

See the top man file or type h while in top for more information on top
