virtual machine with fedora cannot connect internet

i have a problem, one on-line programming course which i attend uses fedora-based appliance (uname - a result is "Linux appliance.localdomain 3.6.2-4.fc17.i686 #1 SMP Wed Oct 17 03:22:23 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux") which i have some internet issues with. i have it installed on my netbook which runs windows xp and on my desktop pc which runs win7, the same appliance (moreover the same virtual disk file) connects internet on the netbook and cannot connect it on the pc. it's not a virtual machine problem because it cannot connect internet neither running on vmware player nor on virtualbox while another distributive, debian testing, being run on them connects without any problems. what may be the problem and what can i do to solve it?
here is the result of ifconfig -a:

Re: virtual machine with fedora cannot connect internet

Make sure that the network settings for the VM is set to either NAT or Bridged, and that if you're going through a proxy, that your VM is allowed to get through. Depending on which virtual machine manager you are using i.e. VMware, VirtualBox, that you have a corresponding network adapter showing up in My Network Places or Network Neighborhood, whatever it's called.

Also make sure your IP is dynamic, not static.
