Is it something like netmeeting in windows? If so, have you tried gnome-meeting in fedora?

talk about a pain in the @$$ to get a webcam working..
again something else linux lacks in multimedia support (sorry to say)
I was going to try and install my usb Logitech QuickCam Home however getting it working requires re-inventing the wheel .. No Webcam messenging.. gonna leave that to windoze..

I have the same camera in a dualboot setup (Win98SE & FC3) and only the other OS sees it properly.
OSS solution is not the one.

I've downloaded qce-ga-0.40d.tar but the make genereted lots of errors and warnings ! so skipped.
I've found my philips tuocam II pro works, but after reconnecting, then I got the /dev/video and link....
Then I thought, lets reconnect my logitech messenger, then my keyboard hung, while the cam did'nt work.
( my computer survived the first hard reset, which was needed after that action )
I will try on ...
( done ... ) second time reconnecting did not hang my keyboard ????

Well, another one about the messenger.
I tried the experimental driver from http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/ --> An experimental driver for QuickCam Messenger was recently written by Mathias Küster
Which gives at best a brownish picture and flashes regular to green and back. So its realy experimental.
Or .... Should I apply the provided patch ; linux-2.6.7-quickcam.patch or linux-2.6.8.1-quickcam.patch
Uhm.... I just don't dare.... how to recover from a broken kernel..... ( )

How nice, I got some time already... I have downloaded unpacked and ran the install script.
And yes... The Quickcam Messanger is working, quite well.
I Realy hope the compression/ Decompression will be cracked soon.
But I believe, those guys did a great job already. Thanks Guys.

Did you checkout the new release of the quickcam messenger driver?
http://home.mag.cx/messenger/ >> qc-usb-messenger-0.5.tar.gz
I am IMPRESSED, tried it this avening, and seem to me better or as good as the windows driver.
( what is your opinion ? )
