EOG and Gthumb don't display images

Okay, I did a fresh install of FC3 a week or two ago. I don't have Gnome installed (I use XFCE) but I installed eog and gthumb through yum, and both are up to date and have all necessary dependencies. They both run, but I never can view any pictures in them. The viewing screen is always blank! I've now reached the point of frustration and have to seek help

If I run "eog filename.jpg", I get the following:

Code:
(eog:31233): GLib-CRITICAL **: file gstrfuncs.c: line 1821 (g_strcasecmp): assertion `s1 != NULL' failed

** (eog:31233): CRITICAL **: file pango-color.c: line 952 (pango_color_parse): assertion `spec != NULL' failed

(eog:31233): GLib-CRITICAL **: file gstrfuncs.c: line 1821 (g_strcasecmp): assertion `s1 != NULL' failed
And if I run "gthumb filename.jpg", I don't get any errors in my terminal.

What is going on?? Thanks in advance..

Scott

May be the app does not work properly under xfce. I would try to run it under gnome and see what happens. Did you do a google search for similiar problem?

I used to use it under XFCE with FC2 and had no problems. It's only come about since I did the fresh install with FC3. And I've tried googling but I'm not exactly sure what to search for. Maybe I need to try one of their mailing lists..
