Question XFCE Launcher to toggle VPN?

To access my files at uni, I mount a samba share, and connect to a VPN. Problem with this is I lose internet connection when connected to the VPN (it's a security setting of the VPN), so to access the internet, I have to constantly disconnect and reconnect to the VPN. Would it be possible to make a launcher toggle being connected and disconnected to the VPN, so I can just do that with one click?

Or if that isn't possible, is it possible to use two launchers, one to connect to the VPN and one to disconnect?

If you help me with this, you will make my life much easier

Re: XFCE Launcher to toggle VPN?

Sure it's possible. You can create any script you like (be it one capable of toggling or one to switch on and one to switch off) and make a launcher for it.
As for the script themselves, sorry I don't know neither how to code nor about vpn :-p

I think this falls under other, but here are the settings:

Protocol: PPTP
VPN server: vpn1.leeds.ac.uk
VPN Port: 1723
Encryption: 128 bit
Authentication method: MSCHAPv2
Username : username
Password: password

(I've ommited my credentials for obvious reasons)
