Unhappy yum update fails: pluma-1.4.0-0101.fc16.x86_64.rpm is not signed

I have installed Mate Desktop and it is an alternative desktop for me in Fedora 16.

Last week I tried to update some packages in yum and the update for all packages failed due to the failure of this package - pluma-1.4.0-0101 not being signed. It seems to be affecting multiple packages.

I have tried to install it separately and event to re-install it. The installation works but the update fails.

I have tried yum clean all prior to the update

yum update --nogpgcheck pluma
Loaded plugins: downloadonly, fs-snapshot, ibm-repository, langpacks, list-data, presto, refresh-packagekit, show-leaves, upgrade-helper

As stated in 'man yum', if you're confident about the package, you can bypass the signature checking by using the '--nogpgcheck' option. (ie: 'yum --nogpgcheck update')

I have tried that but the update still fails:-

I have also tried to delete the package and that also fails.
I have removed the mate* packages, group delete was attempting to delete some required dependant packages.

When I attempted a "yum update" the pluma update would be re-identified as requiring update and then fail again.

I have resorted to removing the Mate reposities temporarily, to update my other packages.
- I would really know how to clean the package out ....

You've tried 'yum remove pluma'?

I have searched every site including packman and rpm.org and ABSOLUTELY CANNOT FIND ANY PACKAGE NAMED pluma-1.4.0-0101.fc16.x86_64.rpm. Maybe your system is trying to install a nonexistent package??

pluma is the text editor (fork of gedit) in Mate. It does exist.

Well knowing what it is helps a ton.

Ok, I tried doing a wget to see if it would automatically fetch it, in a nutshell, no.

It downloaded the index.htm of website-unabailible.com.

Okay, did some more digging and found the rpm. This might help:

Although it is for F17, it should work.

Actually, I think the OP's used this Guide to install Mate: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=276286 If so, the author hasn't been on the Forum since 10/15 to give an assist. Might give him a shout with a PM since it's improper to double-post and call attention to your situation with a post on his Guide.
