Re: Gnome tweak tool

It should show up as "Advanced Settings". Do you see this?

Did it use to be in the top right corner? I switched the profile to a shutdown button. I was under the impression it was under applications how can i locate it and run it?

Re: Gnome tweak tool

Or faster way would be: press F2 and then execute "gnome-tweak-tool". In my case it appeared in applications after restarting gnome.
The application appears as "advanced settings" and can be found in /usr/share/applications too.

Ya i forgot to mention i already tried restarting( twice actually) but it still doesn't show up in applications. I tried executing it in the terminal to no avail. After entering root password i typed gnome-tweak-tool and it said no command found.(am i doing something wrong here?)

Openjdk also doesn't seem to show up. I can find them in my files after searching for them but that doesn't really help since i'm completely new to linux. I appreciate the help

Re: Gnome tweak tool

Did you try to input the command without capital letters? I just tried few combinations and the only one that actually starts the application is the one written using lowercase letters. "gnome-tweak-tool" - seems to be correct form and Unix based systems are very strict about capital/lowercase letters.
I think you don't have to be a root in order to start the application.

I just redownloaded it for the 3rd time and it seems to be working fine. I don't know why it wasn't showing up before...thanks for the help

Re: Gnome tweak tool

Is openjdk working fine too now?

You could try the following and see what you get ..

Code:
rpm -qa | grep -i openjdk
