HELP need industrial strength hard drives

Hello guys & gals,
I have been pulling my hair out lately with our servers (and some workstations) having their hard drives go bad......I need to find a source for some good industrial strength hard drives that can take a beating. We have not had the best luck with solid state for what we do either.

.....thanks ahead of time for all your help

Perhaps it would help if you listed what you have tried so far. Also what size drive?

Never mind the SSDrives. I dont think they are solid enough yet for workstations/servers.

Re: HELP need industrial strength hard drives

Question is what are you using right now? On servers I am occasionally using Seagate Serial ATAs on server side. But always with hardware RAID and LVM on top of it.

You should configure smartd if hdd connected directly

Re: HELP need industrial strength hard drives

Where I work, we have had the best luck in the servers with Hitachi drives.

Had good luck running the Ultrastar 15K600 and the 7K3000 SAS drives. They just installed some of the 7K4000 4TB drives, but don't know how dependable they are yet.
