Hi guyz,

my laptop won't boot anymore, all goes well till i see the plymouth screen with the "drop" filling to the fedora logo. After that i get a black screen, gnome-shell doesn't seem to load.

when I press ctrl-alt-backspace, I get the login screen with cursor but I can do nothing. The cursor moves but i can't click or type.

I tried rebooting with the previous cursor but always the same problem.

The problems started after I wanted to try the built-in grub theme by using the guide at this link.

I'm at windows now 'cause I'm stuck at what to do next.

I'm online using a 3g stick 'cause I'm on army excercise.

fedora 17 64bit
amd radion hd 3650 with legacy catalyst driver (using rpmrebuild)
kernel 3.5.3.-1 (i think)

problem found.

removed the catalyst legacy driver (wich was rebuild with rpmbuild) using

yum remove *catalyst*

rebooted and I got my gnome shell back but with the standard gallium driver.

seems that the rpmbuilded drivers can't get allong with the newest kernel. I've tried rebuilding them again when I was booted in the new kernel but same result. Black screen
