Question Fedora stops at "Started Display Manager."

I very recently installed Fedora 17 x64 on my laptop, after getting used to gnome and updating the software and playing around with it a little I attempted to download the nVidia drivers for my card.

After following this thread http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=280750 I was unable to boot into the gnome login screen, instead I was greeted by a long list ending at [ OK ] Started Display Manager.

I can still access the Ctrl + Alt + F2-F6 in order to use shell commands, but I don't know how to go about fixing the issue.

According to a few google searches akmod is supposed to be reliable, and my card is supported.

Here's the result of lspci |grep vga:
Code:
00:12.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C67 [GeForce 7000M / nForce 610MJ (rev a2)
and the result of rpm -qa *\nvidia\* *\kernel\*|sort;uname -r;lsmod |grep -e nvidia -e nouveau;cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Code:

If anyone can offer help with this that'd be great.

Re: Fedora stops at "Started Display Manager."

Try putting this in your xorg.conf:

Code:
Section "Device"
	Identifier "Videocard0"
	Driver "nvidia"
EndSection
and reboot.
