Re: no sound after upgrade to fc17

I had a similer problem in F16 when the 3.4 kernal came out.
The pcm devices were not being created in /dev/snd.
I found the solution to my sound problem here.

Quote:
Add the following lines to /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf

options snd-hda-intel model=3stack
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

Re: no sound after upgrade to fc17

When I installed FC17, my sound card ceased working as well.
To fix this, I used xfce4-mixer and:

(1) Selected the correct device in the "Sound Card" drop box.

(2) Under the "Options" tab, in the "H/W" drop box
I chose "PCM OUT"
