AMD, triple monitor, qt-x11.i686 problem

First post... be nice

I do a clean install of Fedora Lxde 64, update, install RPM catalyst software as described in this forum (Works Great! best one so far BTW!). download wine.i686.... After setting amdcccle, checking xorg.conf, World of Warcraft spans 3 monitors Perfectly at 5760x1080! No glitching no noticable bugs at all! Then I install skype and things change:

1. Warcraft still works but it is confined to one screen.
2. The xorg.conf file is the same before and after installing of skype so I cannot see it being that.

I narrowed it down (after alot of reinstalls of the OS) to the qt-x11.i686 needed for the install of skype.i586.

Is there a setting i need to change to keep the qt-X11 for skype but still makes the spanning of wine working? If so could someone point it out?

Thank You very much for the help on this and the other info I have recieved from this forum.

Re: AMD, triple monitor, qt-x11.i686 problem

Ok a quick reply to the board to say I think I solved my problem. installing qt.i686, qt-X11.686 and libXrander.i686 stoped my monitors from spanning or extending across them. The solution in part came from:

http://www.if-not-true-then-false.co...ific-linux-sl/

I did every step except installing dependencies, linking the libtiff.so.3 to libtiff.so.4 and I downloaded the static version from the skype website directly. When I typed skype in terminial it said I was missing libXss.so.1 and libtiff.so.4. installing libXScrnSaver.i686 fixed libXss.so.1 That left libtiff.so.4.

On a huntch I installed libtiff.i686 not qt.i686, qt-x11, or libXrander.i686. Then did the link and skype worked!!! Video, chat, and all. I redid my system and repeated it and it still worked.I'm sure I might run into a few more bugs but for now it works. If anyone would like to explain why it worked this way and not the other, I'd love to hear it. (no sarcasm intended), just curious.

btw installing wine.i686 installed the other dependencies.

Re: AMD, triple monitor, qt-x11.i686 problem

Most 32-bit programs that are graphics intensive require the *.i686 packages in order to function properly. This is especially true of 32-bit Windows programs run in Wine.

As to the monitors spanning, I would know little about that as I only use one screen per computer at the present time.
