It the same setting as gnome-shell, look in administration / user accounts

Yeno... He writes the desktopfile, which is independet of the loginmanager config files.
But you can manualy edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop and replace the DISPLAYMANAGER=XY with the loginmanager you want to use.

For lxdm its lxdm.
For slim its as in his post.

Can someone please post the command sequence (like below) to get rid of slim - and go back to signing in again. At least that was much easier.

Slim is a pleasant little greeter that is truly small and lightweight. Try it. If you don't like it just remove the /etc/syscongfg/desktop lines.[COLOR="Silver"]
I would do this but don't know what "If you don't like it just remove the /etc/syscongfg/desktop lines" means or how to remove it.
