Fedora 17, hangs after fedora flash, mouse pointer left spining.

System has been functioning alright up to this mornings boot. "Recovery mode" start indicates no problems. Boot looks clean enough, fedora load flash completes, mouse pointer starts spinning and load hangs. Fedora 17, 64bit, lenovo 7483 - e8400, 3ghz. HD 4350 ati radeon. If the system if left at this point the power saving mode kicks in as usual.

Try to remove rhgb and quiet from the boot options to see more error messages.

If you can still switch to a VT (e.g. ctrl-alt-f2) then check dmesg and /var/log/messages
