New install of FC17 - Intel DH67CL board with 8 Gb mem & (new) 500 Gb HD.
Partitioning and installation went without a hitch, except for an occasional "keyboard not present" message, usually during boot. Sometimes the KB worked even after this message came up. Sometimes not, I would have to shut down, remove power, unplug/replug the usb connector to get it back. Once I lost the KB during partitioning and I had to erase and repartition the drive after getting it back.
The KB is an IBM PS-2 unit with an integrated touchpad, connected via a PS-2 to USB adapter. There are no PS-2 ports on the motherboard.
After FC17 was installed, up & running, I updated the system (yum update) and installed Cinnamon. Up to this point the KB and mouse (touchpad) appeared to be working OK.
I shut down and installed the PC into it's place and now the system will not recognize that a USB keyboard is present no matter what.
I can't get into the bios (no PS-2 ports)...
I have tried another PS-2 keyboard with the same result.
It's like the system is not starting any USB services or they are failing and being passed over in a disabled state during the boot. I don't see the boot messages on the screen.
I know I'll have to get hold of a USB mouse and keyboard to continue troubleshooting this, but does anyone have any tips or suggestions?
