Install error

Got a new Desktop at work today, trying t install F17 form a DVD getting this error
ERROR: could not instert 'floppy; : no such device

and it stops right there.

I have burned a new dvd, tried the live cd and they all get the same error and intstall will not continue.

Thoughts?

I got that error - but install continued (there are several lengthy pauses in the install). It's just doing it's hardware check and not finding a floppy drive or disk - I don't think it has anything to do with your DVD. {just a guess}

Just proceed with the installation. There will be no problems with your installation because of this.

What kind of Desktop is this?

What kind of graphics card does it have?

Try to remove rhgb and quiet from the kernel command line to get more messages.

The floppy message is normal if you boot the DVD in BIOS mode.

Does your new Desktop have a windows installed in UEFI mode with a GPT partition table?

Try to boot the DVD in UEFI mode.
