[SOLVED] Missing grub2 theme files F17 after recent update

I did 'yum update' today after letting it go for about a week. This is F17 x86_64 on an alienware netbook m11x. No problems previously. After today's update the reboot hangs for a minute saying /boot/grub2/themes/system/dejavu.pf2 and fireworks.png are missing and it gives syntax errors. Then it moves on to an ugly, themeless menu. Before this update I got the themed menu. I have done nothing manually to any of the boot or grub2 files. The file fireworks.png is nowhere to be found at all. The file dejavu.pf2 does exist but it's in the starfield directory not the system directory (of themes). I tried reinstalling grub2 and grub2-tools but didn't help.

I faced same problem. i have enabled system theme by remving default hash sign put against GRUB_THEME="/boot/grub2/themes/system/theme.txt" from /etc/default/grub.

After recent update, theme stopped working. I solved it by

1. sudo cp /boot/grub2/themes/starfield/starfield.png /boot/grub2/themes/system/
2. sudo gedit /boot/grub2/themes/system/theme.txt (change name of fireworks.png to starfield.png)
3. update grub by running
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
4. reboot
