Using Smart Package Manager with fc17

How do I setup the Smart Package Manager to work win fc17 with my repositories ? Although PackageKit seems good, it actually freezes up often in the Add/Remove Software and Update Software applications. I neeed something more reliable than that as a package manager for fc17.

Thanks, yumex works beautifully and I will use it. Smart package manager no longer works and I have given up on it. It also seems no longer supported. the Packagekit program on Fedora is really poor with lots of hangs, so ymex is definitely the way to go.

yum remove PackageKit

It is case sensitive, and allow it to remove the few dependencies along with it.
