F17 Ugly fonts after installing MS TTF fonts

Hi.
I just finished installing msttfcorefonts (on Fedora 17 x86_64),
and am pretty disappointed with the result-

Although some fonts Do look OK,
others are just plain ugly, even worse than the original fonts.

At first I suspected my screen resolution (which is quite low- 1024x768),
but my dual-booted Windows seems to handle it pretty well.

I know I'm not giving a lot of useful information here,
but honestly- I just don't know what is a useful info in this case...
I'm attaching a screenshot that may help.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Thanks in advance!

Are you using the Infinality patches? http://www.infinality.net/blog/infinality-repository/

Look at post #6 here; http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=272850

Thanks a lot, oboedad55!
That was exactly what I was looking for.

Usually I avoid complementing by comparing,
but it seems that You guys are much more helpful than the guys in Ubuntu forums...
I'm glad I chose Fedora.

Glad to help! They're both good distros, but Fedora is geared up for the user with more experience. Ubuntu/Mint. etc. are great for new Linux users as not everyone wants to fool around with their operating system. If you really want to get into it give Arch a try.
