Live CD Hangs on background screen

Hello, I downloaded Fedora 17 i686 iso from the fedora website. I burned the iso to a dvd and loaded into my computer, after restarting the disk loads asking if I want to install fedora or goto the trouble shooting options. I clicked the first.

After seeing the circle complete it brings me to the background then doesn't show anything, the mouse works fine and the keyboard is active but nothing loads. Any ideas? I don't want to burn a new disk before I explore other options.

What kind of computer do you have?

How does this "background" screen look like?

What exactly did you download? The DVD or the LiveCD?

The LiveCD loads this circle thingy first and then asks if you want to "Try Fedora" or "Install to Hard Drive". It doesn't say anything about trouble shooting.

You can check the sha256 checksum of your downloaded image and the burned dvd to verify it's integrity.

I downloaded my version from http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options

I've tried both the Gnome and KDE but they both just freeze when loading. I think it might be my video card as the screen flickers a few times then it just stops loading.

I downloaded the i686 as my cpu is older, my video card is a Nvidia 7600 gs, hard drive is an IDE. I'm not sure on the exact motherboard it's running or CPU off the top of my head.
