compliling simh with networking not working

Hello noob question here. I hope this is in the correct forum

Since the repo that installs simh does not come with networking compiled. I need to compile it with networking . I have loaded libpcap and downloaded the lastes simh rpm have followed this and that direction i have found through google and it does not comple correctly. It just has some vage error i will get that if you needed it but just says error. I would like to be pointed to a good step by step doc that will allow me to get my micro vax up and running on fc16 64. This has to run on the 64 bit platform due to the fact i want to run the alph vax as well

I would like to thank all in advance for any help that can be given. if this post is out of scope i am sorry just let me know what forum to goto and i will be there thanks.

simhv39-0.zip compiles out of the box with Fedora 16.

yum install libpcap-devel

After everything else has failed try to read 0readme_ethernet.txt

I have read that file severel times. I have loaded the lipbcap. I will double check if i have the libpcap-devel loaded that could be it... Other wise i will let you know .. i have worked on this for sometime now.
