fc17 graphic card problem

I wanted to test the new fc17. I used the fedora usb live creator. I booted off the flashdrive. A message told me that Gnome 3 was not loaded because of a graphics card ptoblem. I am running fc14 on a compaq presario and use a gma 3150. I went to the intel site where driver updates are listed. Has anyone update their intel driver. If so what are the consequences??
