Problem with hotplug in dual Opteron System

Hello,
I seem to be having a problem with Hotplug on a dual Opteron MSI
system board. I am running a fresh FC3 install (not an upgrade) updated with the currently released updates, except for the kernel.
I read that the 681 kernel had problems so I avoided it.

The problem is that a few minutes after booting, one CPU gets fully
consumed and hotplug is the only process running (consuming CPU
time) at 100%. I went through the Hotplug web site and a few other
forums without any luck. If I disable hotplug and reboot, both CPU's
stay around idle.

I also have not been able to get ieee11394 working, but I think that's
another issue.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on???
Thanks for your assistance.
