Exclamation black screen on acer aspire

am still a newbie in fedora. i have installed fedora 16 on my acer aspire 5736z laptop but it keeps showing a black screen.what do i do?

I think I remember that there might have been a problem with the backlight. try using the function keys to up the backlight, maybe you see something.

You should also try to press ctrl-alt-f2, to check whether the system is running in the correct mode at all.

Is this installed directly from some media, or is it an already up to date system installed while on the network?
