Vi won't let me change a value?

Are there any other built in text editors I can use? Vi won't let me change a value from 1 to 0. When I press 0 it just moves to a different spot in the file rather than typing a 0. I really need to disable a repository, without being able to disable it I can't download any new packages from the repositories.

There are several editors, not sure which ones are default though. I suspect it is only vi but you could try nano or emacs.

If I recall correctly you have to press 'i' first in vi to be able to edit files (it has a navigation and editing mode). Have a quick google on how to use it.

It's much easier than this.
Code:
yum --disablerepo=whateverisborked install joe
Vim is a really weird editor, because it has these different modes like Adunaic described and you have to type :wq to save the file.

The only advantage is that it is available on every unix system ;-)

The second solution worked. Thanks!
