Which services are trusted?

From the F17 firewall GUI, you're provided with a list of services which can be defined as "trusted". But it's not clear and unambiguous - which are the ones defined as trusted - the ones you check or the ones not checked?

I hate such ambiguity. /rant

I'm asking because regardless the check, I can't seem to tell the firewall to trust printing to a networked printer. Only disabling the firewall permits it.

Am I missing something else?

Thanks

Re: Which services are trusted?

A network printer is not controlled by the firewall - other than by blocking some port usage. You have to identify what ports the network printer uses.

Trusted services are those that run on your host providing services to other systems.

The network printer is providing services to your system, so none of the "services" flagged/unflagged deal with that.

You should have some errors reported by the connection failure. It is possible the IP number is blocked.
