Re: skype on F17?

i think you no longer need to say 'localinstall'. 'install' does the right thing in either case now.

Nope. Didn't work. Same error.
BTW, latest versions of yum no longer need to distinguish between "install" and "localinstall". The former option is the preferred one.

Re: skype on F17?

Sorry i corrected the error, it should have been

yum localinstall --nogpgcheck install path-to-package

however i see now 'localinstall' is no longer needed.

yum install --nogpgcheck path-to-package

If it's still not working try this:

First:

Code:
su -c "yum --setopt=protected_multilib=false install pulseaudio-libs.i686 pulseaudio-libs-devel.i686 alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i686 libv4l.i686 libXv.i686 libXv-devel.i686 libXScrnSaver.i686 libXScrnSaver.x86_64 libXScrnSaver-devel.i686 libXScrnSaver-devel.x86_64 qt.i686 qt-devel.i686"
then

Code:
yum clean all
then

Code:
yum install --nogpgcheck path-to-package

Re: skype on F17?

Hi
Does anyone here know what language or languages that Skype is written in? C C++ or whatever. It seems that it is a struggle to keep it working, let alone advance it in any major way.

Ok. Seems that third's really the charm....
Made sure all of the above dependencies were installed. Tried again with the same error, but then decided to download skype a third time and now it installed all right.
Thanks for the tips, jonathonp.
