ssh / ping fails on hosts connected to the internal network
Hello all. I just converted from Windows Vista to Fedora 17 and there is a problem I'm having. I have a linux server on my internal network that I normally ssh into using Putty in Windows. However, when I boot up into Fedora 17 on the same computer, I cannot ping or ssh into the SAME SERVER using the terminal. How come?

I have run into that problem before as well.
What I do now is on machines where I dual boot Windows/linux I make sure to give those static network addresses and make certain that the Windows and linux address is the same. (If you have a router that can assign the network address depending upon MAC address, then that would be better than manually configuring both to be the same.)
