grub2-mkconfig does not find all installed OS's
Occasionally when I run grub2-mkconfig on my multi-boot desktop one of the existing OS's is not found. As a result, this OS is not added to the boot menu. If this is the case then simply mount the partition for the OS that is not found and run grub2-mkconfig again.
I'm sure this has been mentioned in this forum before but I just ran into it again this morning and thought I'd share the info.
Wait for it ...

Re: grub2-mkconfig does not find all installed OS's
Good tip. Just wondering though; do we have a "grub2 tips and tweaks" thread running somewhere that might be a sticky? With it being so different from grub legacy and more complex to adjust when things aren't perfect, it would be great to have that resource.
Case in point: I have no problem with Grub2 finding distros and loading properly, but in F17, as soon as the grub menu comes up, the font sizes are shown in "1 point type". They're readable, but 1/10th. the size of the rest of the boot sequence. Now, that's probably mentioned in other posts, but I haven't found the references yet and sure am not going to mess things up with amateur tweaks.

You may eventually. I think there was an update to grubby recently and I believe that may have caused this issue for me. I may be wrong though. This issue seems to come and go at will.

Are you using the default menu? For me that was a full screen text style menu with small fonts. Stupid. I added something to my /etc/default/grub to change the screen resloution.
PHP Code:
GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768
Much better now.

Yes, it's the default menu but your fix didn't change things. No big deal; I've got this magnifying glass handy....
Oh wait...now it's working! Thanks!

Yeah, unfortunately, the part where I stated "then break out the magnifying glass" was in the same text color as the background
