Re: liveusb(created with liveusb-creator) not boot

I was able to install fedora 16 without problems with this program:
YUMI
This program is constantly updated, I guess Fedora 17 is included.

Re: liveusb(created with liveusb-creator) not boot

Which iso did you download and install on the USB-drive using LiveUSB-Creator?
Also, was it this LiveUSB-Creator? (They are all named very similar.)

Can you describe your problem more precisely?
Can you boot your computer from the LiveUSB or is there already a problem with that?
Stick the LiveUSB into your computer and turn the computer on. Right when the first text appears in Bios (white text on black background) press the F12 key and you should get a menu from which you can select from which drive to boot. Select the USB-device and the computer will boot from the LiveUSB and not your hard drive.
You then arrive at a desktop where there is a desktop-symbol "Install Fedora 17" or something like that. Klicking that, you can install Fedora 17 on your computers hard drive.

Was that your problem, or did you already get that far and had a problem later?

I am sorry if I am asking too simple things, but I don't know how much you already know about these things.

Re: liveusb(created with liveusb-creator) not boot

Are you sure you want a 64bit Opperating System? It should work on most new computers, but unless you specifically want 64bit, it's usually the best idea to use the "standard" 32bit version.
The best reason to use 64bit is when you have more than 4 gigabyte of RAM. With 4 or less, 32bit is usually enough.

No wait, this is the correct file.

Where you able to boot from the LiveUSB device?

Re: liveusb(created with liveusb-creator) not boot

do you mean that my problem fixed by 32bit
if i've not remove ubuntu (in previous installation i've remove it) could fix this problem.
(i can not get 32bit easily from internet --for my bandwidth--)
or other solution?

Re: liveusb(created with liveusb-creator) not boot

You do have the right iso file, I made the mistake of thinking it was the wrong one.

When you connect the USB-Live device to your computer and then start the computer, can you boot from the USB-Live device? Maybe you need to press F12 right when the computer is turned on and before it begins to start Windows, then you will be able to select the USB-Device from a list.

Okay.

After you had Fedora 17 installed on the hard drive, you deleted Ubuntu. Is that right?
That might have also removed or damaged Grub.

Re: liveusb(created with liveusb-creator) not boot

When you install either Fedora or Ubuntu again, it should also install Grub again and grub should be working then.
