Positive Fedora 17 Experience..

I have been using Arch Linux for most of my machines for the past couple of years... I have an Ubuntu server for a web server...

I decided to put Fedora 17 on my Toshiba laptop after attempting FreeBSD install on it... (total failure due to hardware recognition and driver problems)... looked at Debian... and well.. i'll do Arch Linux before i jump into that one... similar baseline installs and I know Arch... so I went with Fedora and

WOW! Installed very quickly with Gnome 3... All my hardware is working properly, including wireless!...

I'm very pleased with my initial few days of experience. I played around with Yum a little, and it's a pretty easy deal to use... The Wiki's are very helpful. They have the same problems as most of them.. they get dated pretty quickly... but they point me in the right direction.

Gnome 3 has definitely improved.. I look forward to adding my usual scripts and toys to the laptop under Fedora!

I will recommend people to try this system out...

fedora is very good with having many of the essentials working out of the box, thats all I care about, every thing else I can add later if not included.

+ 1.

Used Arch linux for sometime. Fedora is so much painless. But still with the same freedom and more quality.

With debian I'm an experienced user but with yum I feel me as a beginner
But no problem at this time, I like the positions and the community's work to Fedora and I'm very proud to be here, even when I sometimes desire for debian.

Finally Fedora 17 rules
