vpn connection failed

Hello
I'm trying to set up/use openvpn and everytime I try I get
VPN connection failed
because of invalid vpn secrets
Googling has so far yielded very little, I've renamed gnome keyring and unchecked "available to all users"

Re: vpn connection failed

Hi
I'm using gnome network manager and I'm not sure I want to disable the whole firewall, I have allowed openvpn in the firewall but still get the invalid secrets whatever they are

Re: vpn connection failed

can you show me a sceernshot please. Have selinux pop up any messages? VPN works with passwordmanager like seahorse or kwallet. This must be enabled.

Re: vpn connection failed

Hi
and thanks for the help
The exact wording on the warning is
Quote:
VPN connection failed
The VPN connection 'VPNReactor
OpenVPN' failed because of invalid VPN secrets
The strange thing is I now have to put my (network-manager/keyring) VPN password in every time I boot up to get normal wireless, which would suggest the keyring is doing it's job and seahorse shows the correct password etc.
My VPNReactor username and password are correct so I'm baffled as to which secrets ain't right.
Oh yeah I disabled selinux too and no difference

Jun 7 10:27:53 localhost NetworkManager[1075]: <info> VPN service 'openvpn' disappeared
I don't know if this is just a warning or the reason for failure
Code:
Jun 7 10:27:43 localhost nm-openvpn[2104]: WARNING: No server certificate verification method has been enabled. See http://openvpn.net/howto.html#mitm for more info.
That url just refers to man in the middle attacks.
This is the guide I've been following https://www.vpnreactor.com/linux_openvpn.html
