cannot install fedora 16 .. installation hangs at: starting plymouth daemon

I just built a new computer and I am having trouble installing Fedora from a live USB and a live CD. When I boot, everything starts normally and says loading before it would normally get to the graphical boot. Then I get a black screen with text and says "Dracut: starting plymouth daemon" and the installation hangs forever.

I have a feeling this has to do with my graphics card? I have a Geforce GTX 460 v2.

How can I get the installation to work properly and then avoid any problems in the future?

Thanks!!

Edit the grub menu and try adding "nouveau.noaccel=1 nomodeset" as kernel boot options.
If that boots the CD, repeat at the boot after install. Then, install Nvidia's driver. You should be good, hopefully.

Certain kernel versions won't boot properly with certain Nvidia cards and the open Nouveau driver Fedora uses by default.

Thanks! I'm able to start the installation.

Which video driver do I use? By nvidias do you mean the one on their website that is a pain in the ass to install or akmod drivers that can be installed using yum?

Use the akmod drivers.

You are a life saver! Thank you!

Posting from my new machine running Fedora 16 that isn't fallback mode.

Now hopefully when I tinker around with my settings I won't ***** anything else up.
