Hello,
My laptop is a COMPAL NBLB5 and whenever i try to use any program that uses the webcam the entire OS freezes, nothing i can do but shutdown and reboot. Current OS is Fedora 17, latest kernel 3.3.7. I've seen this reported in a beta version of fedora 17 and it sad solved by an update. I can confirm that the issue is not solved, i don't use my webcam often but even if i try to configure Kopete my entire system crashes (not clicking the webcam tab) but as soon as i hit preferences my OS is done. Please help

So, camera use just destroys the os, kopete (simple chat) preferences kills os, movie players puts the pc to sleep and there is no way of getting back (i mean i have sound but screen is black) and A LOT of different other bugs on KDE version of F17. KTorrent just killd my pc i couldn't do anything while downloading, almost 400mb of RAMM went to Amarock (wtf?!?!?!) and so on. I wouldn't reccoment KDE version of F17 to my worst enemy. On the other hand i just installed the gnome version, where everything just works...well...almost everything...let's just say that 99% works

. My laptop has an i3, ati 5650m and 4gb of ramm, for all of you out there who wanna give fedora a try, just choose the gnome shell version.
