I updated to Fedora 17 from Fedora 16 yesterday, and have been hammering away at issues all day today. One issue I had was that I had the Fedora 16 kernel, so I had to enable the updates repo to get it, or something. I had a difficult time and tried a few fixes but finally got the 17 kernel.
I'm stuck with two and a half issues- I say "half" because the half I think is linked to one of the issues.
1) At boot, after the Fedora logo shows up, my screen goes blank and stays that way. It's lit, times out like it usually would if I was at the Account Log on screen, but nothing appears on it. I have to press FN and F2, then log in to my account and use 'startx' to load a GUI.
1.5) I'm guessing this is linked to the first issue, but animations lag for me on Fedora 17 when they never did on Fedora 16. For example, when I press Super (Windows button for me) to see my Dashboard, the animation for windows shrinking to the center of the screen is a bit choppy.
2) I have no sound in Fedora 17. When I click on Sound Settings, the only audio device available is Dummy Output.
Here is an fpaste of my Xorg log:
Can someone please help me fix these issues? I'd really like to get Fedora 17 working nicely, and none of these problems happened for me on Fedora 16.

Quick detail to add- I logged in as root and used 'startx' to launch the GUI, my sound works fine as root and I don't see the lag that I ran into previously.
Yet I still don't get gnome-shell starting on boot... can someone help me with this?
