[SOLVED] help.. F16 upgrade and boot block messed up

I just upgraded to F16 and it went fine.
But I have a kernel issue and was able to hang it and after I did that and a hard powerdown,
my F16 does not find the boot block apparently.
It will boot if I put in a USB with an old grub .97 boot block.
I've tried installing the boot block to the hard drive but apparently don't have the right mojo.

I use:

grub2-install --no-floppy --recheck "(hd0)"

grubby says it's there:


grubby --bootloader-probe
grub2

help?

What exactly is the error message?

You could try to boot Fedora 16 live cd or the the rescue mode from the DVD and re-install grub.

There's no error message, or I don't wait long enough for it.
I can get this thing to boot all the way up if I use a USB stick that has an old boot block on it.

Are you saying that you can't boot from the FC 16 LiveCD?

OK. This is solved.
I had an fedora 13 bootable cd in the drive after I got the boot block
fixed, and that's why it was puking.
