System won't shutdown

Hello

My system won't shutdown. I get a CX88[0]/1: IRQ loop detected error message that just keeps scrolling across my screen.

I found an old bug report where others have had this problem but no solution. I am running:

Linux 3.3.7-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue May 22 13:59:39 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux



If anyone knows how to solve this problem I would appreciate it very much as I cannot reboot or shutdown.

Try Linux 3.3.6-3.fc16.x86_64

I tried booting and shutting down with both:

3.3.6-3.fc16.x86_64
and

3.3.5-2.fc16.x86_64

And I had the same problem. I have no idea where to proceed from here.

The first page I found in a web search showed with your same driver a suggestion to boot with the "irqpoll"
option. Maybe try that?
