Bootloader Installation Failure [F17]

Hi,

I just tried installing F17 and it failed installing the bootloader at the end. When I investigated I realized that it was installed actually but does't have any files. I tried Fedora Rescue mode, and reinstalled GRUB, but no avail. I have tried LVM, Ext4, Ext3, AHCI, Compatibility, almost everything...

Anybody can help?

BTW, it's a PC without EFI...

Thanks in advance.

Re: Bootloader Installation Failure [F17]

I had the same issue when I installed from the DVD. I made sure I had a good DVD. I put the DVD on a flash drive and installed from that. I tried fixing the system. All my attempts did not work. So as a final ditch effort I tried installing from the Live CD. Installed without issue.

The DVD that I used was Fedora-17-x86_64-DVD.iso.
The Live CD that I used was Fedora-17-x86_64-Live-Desktop.iso

Oh same here. I never had this problem with previous releases or any other distro!

I fixed the problem. I had to kinda wipe the disk drive. Probably there was somethig with the MBR/GPT... But after that, first try worked just perfectly...
