Install MediaTomb F17

Hello,

I tried installing mediatomb with 'yum install mediatomb' on Fedora 17.
I editied the /etc/mediatomb.conf to include
Code:
MT_INTERFACE="p3p1"
Then I started mediatomb using
Code:
service mediatomb start
I opened firefox and browsed to http://localhost:50500/ and I get nothing.

Please Help.

I tried
Code:
ps -e | grep mediatomb
and I also get nothing. The process does not start using
Code:
service mediatomb start

Re: Install MediaTomb F17

Hello
I use mediatomb to connect to my ps3 all the time, I just type
Code:
mediatomb
in a terminal, a url is generated in the output which can be accessed from a browser where I choose which directories/folders I wish to allow access to.
From memory I think you will have to check the "find files recursively" box in order to populate the list.
Hope this helps

Re: Install MediaTomb F17

I, too, can start a per-user instance of mediatomb manually at the command line. However, I am unable to get mediatomb to automatically start as a service at boot. Any help would be appreciated.

Ah, it is a bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826377

The startup script at /lib/systemd/system/mediatomb.service is using hardcoded values. I edited the startup script and manually changed the interface from eth0 to p3p1. It works!

Re: Install MediaTomb F17

Hi
I'm still using good ole fedora 14 so no systemd for me but I can get mediatomb to start at login (to fluxbox that is) by adding mediatomb & to the .fluxbox startup file, I even set alt m as a keyboard shortcut.
I've never used gnome 3 but there must be some way to add custom commands at startup.........I hope

Re: Install MediaTomb F17

I have ran into an issue with FC17 and mediatomb. It will not scrobble my played songs to last.fm. I have edited the /etc/mediatomb/config.xml file to include have last.fm enabled and username and password. I have confirmed these settings and the username and password are correct. I've looked through the mediatomb logs and can't see anything to help me troubleshoot this issue. Any suggestions? I should add I also edited the /lib/systemd/system/mediatomb.service file to reflect the correct interface.
