Fedora 16 - Very impressive!

Yes I know F17 is due out soon However I thought I would try F16. So after a speedy download, burn, and reboot I found myself using the GNOME 3 DE. Speedy, very responsive, slick, and responds well on my system. I'm SO tempted to jump ship. Well done Fedora crew!!

By the way i much prefer the GNOME 3 DE as opposed to the Ubuntu Unity DE. Unity is so confusing and slow!!

Re: Fedora 16 - Very impressive!

Kona is the official Windows user.
And F16 just brought him a sense of inspiration towards Linux

Re: Fedora 16 - Very impressive!

Ah, we are a fickle bunch, ain't we! I say good things about Windows 7® (several times as a matter of fact) and it's nuthin' but crickets. Nobody bats an eye. Terry, (Kona) on the other hand, gives F16 a good review and the sniggers and chuckles begin to bubble up like so much swamp gas. <....>

Good grief! It's no bloody wonder I'm addicted to this place. You can't buy entertainment like this! <....>

Re: Fedora 16 - Very impressive!

ah, ok

didn't know kona is the winbooze user, but hey..what it's worth getting praised from a win-fanatic, can't be good at atll

maybe he just wants to tease us a little bit and explain it afterwards, "meh, just a joke..you really think a long years win-user tends to cange his opinion about that...it's like... declaring the us to a non-surveillance state"

In related news, there are reports of pigs flying over hell, which has mysteriously frozen over.

Re: Fedora 16 - Very impressive!

Only problem I encountered was that I think Fedora 16 uses a generic driver for my video card. I left the live CD running all night. In the morning the top of the display started to flicker as if the LED backlight was going out. It made the top of display unreadable. Booted back into Windows and the problem seemed to cure itself.

Re: Fedora 16 - Very impressive!

Hmmmm.

That one sounds like it's worth a bug report, Terry. Please go to bugzilla and file one on it.

Thanks!
