rsync.conf and ***

Some time ago I found a site that explained the syntax for the rsync.conf exclude list. It used *, **, and *** and I can't remember what site that was and the man page doesn't help.

Anyone know of any documentation that explains the syntax of the exclude for rsync.conf?

Google has a million hits for the man page so its no help.

Thank You
