Change/switch user defective

I am using Fedora 16 with Gnome 3.2.1

Since 1,2 or 3 "yum update" it is not possible to change/switch the user.

Error message is:

Display can not be started.
Method "CreateTransientDisplay" with signature "" on interface "org.gnome.DisplayManager.LocalDisplayFactory" doesn't exist

Other irregularity:

After start-up the screen for login appears for approx 15 seconds, then disappears and reappears. Only then a login is possible.

How to repair this ?
