F17 beta, GeForce FX5200 and g.s. fallback

Hi all, last week I installed the Fedora 17 beta. All went good except for a partition problem (there should be a bug).
Now I've no gnome shell: only fallback. Can I hope to re-see it in the next days when the problem will be resolved or my Geforce FX 5200 that worked fine in F16 will not more supported? Should I report a bug in Bugzilla for this problem?

Thanks, developers & others (QA, moderator, free FSF supporters, etc),
Luigi

Re: F17 beta, GeForce FX5200 and g.s. fallback

There's a bug in nouveau that makes a total mess out of Gnome Shell. Until that one is ironed out, we're stuck in fallback mode. I've un-blacklisted it manually ... and the results ain't pretty.

No, the problem is just with the older NV3x series cards. That is the older Geforce FX and Geforce 6000 series. Newer cards aren't affected by that issue.

[Solved] F17 beta, GeForce FX5200 and g.s. fallback

Using the suggestions in comment #94 of bug #745202 I get a gnome shell experience, (though exremely slow: I must buy a new PC).
