Question Do the latest ATI Drivers work in the latest Kernel version for FC2

Do the ati drivers that worked in the 2.6.8 kernels work for kernel 2.6.9-1.6_FC2smp or are we waiting for updates from ATI.

they do not seem to for me. install fails with:
FATAL: Could not open '/boot/System.map-2.6.8-1.521': No such file or directory
and X loader at bootup complains:
DRI will not work within X with the ati-fglrx driver get updated kernel -module-fglrx-<kernelver> rpm from rpm.livna
my kernel is 2.6.9-1.3_FC2 - alas I do not have 2.6.8-1.521.

will tuxracer always be jerky on my screaming hardware? aidez nous micha svp!

oops it was rather late when I last posted. Its rather late now but I'm happy. glxgears 1160 fps! smooth tuxracing!
Yes the old drivers do work with the new kernel but you have to rebuild the kernel -module-fglrx - see micha's post elsewhere.
And the conf file needs some work - I simply combined the keyboard and mouse sections of my old xorg.conf file before I copied the xfree.conf file over it. Now if only I could get those splendid linux screensavers back..... Merci Micha!
