hi gang
just upgraded to fedora 15 and did a complete install on everything
including development stuff. don't know if I needed all that but what
the heck. been trying to learn linux for a couple of years so I am
just a beginner here, detailed info requested on this. kinda dumb here!!!
having a problem playing cds. tried all the playback pgms which are
installed on a normal install, rythymbox, amarox and etc.
play screen come up and it accessing the cd but no sound.
if was my understanding that the normal insall would play many file
formats other that mp3. is this correct? if so what is the solution?
have system dual booting with windows xp prof. cd play works fine
under windows so I know the sound card is working, it is an onboard
sound system nivdia. relatively new mother board installed and all
drivers for windows was installed.
are there separate drivers needed under windows for the onboard
sound?
thanks in advance
